Ikat fabrics

Ikat is the flagship of Uzbek applied arts, prized throughout the world for beautifully harmonious designs, flamboyant colours and superb quality silk. Many Haute Couture houses include these precious fabrics in their collections. From cultivating the mulberry leaves to choosing the silk threads, from dying to weaving, each stage of this complex process – and there may be as many as 40! – is done by hand.
